Choosing Your Wedding Photographer

The day you get married is one of the most important days of your life and you will want
to remember it forever. So it is important to choose a good professional photographer to
capture the day’s special moments on film

Anyone can just turn up at a wedding with a camera and take pictures, but a professional
photographer will have attended many weddings and special celebrations, and will have the
experience to be in the right place at the right time to get the images you want and the
expertise to present them to you after the event. A professional photographer will use the best
equipment to ensure your images are perfect, will be a member of SWPP & BPPA and will have

The FSM Style

The FSM style of photography is relaxed and informal. By the time the day arrives we will usually have met you
once or twice before, possibly at a portrait photography session or at the rehearsal. On the day we will have already
visited the venues to check them out for lighting and camera angles, even if we have already worked there on a
previous occasion, and we will have discussed your thoughts and ideas about the photographs you are looking for.
Most of our photography will be reportage shots which serve to record the day’s events as they happen, and we will
talk to you during the day to establish which formal photographs you want us to take. Some formal photographs we
take routinely, but we always work quickly to ensure the day is not dominated by the photography. After the ceremony
and the family group shots we try and take the couple away from their guests for some informal romantic photography.
This allows your guests to move on to the wedding breakfast and gives you the opportunity to be together and relax
for a short time

Because your event is unique we prefer to talk to you about your thoughts and ideas for your special
day and then prepare a quote based on the amount of photographic coverage you have in mind, the
type of album and number of prints you choose, and if you wish to select the optional CD/DVD containing
the day’s photographs. It’s your day, you should decide!

However, to make planning easier for our clients we have put together two typical photography
packages, one for during the week with a single photographer starting at £345, and one for weekend events
or events requiring two photographers from £695. These are far from being cast in stone and we will of course
quote for our normal tailored photography service


Easy Payment Option

To secure your date in the FSM Photography diary we normally ask for a deposit which is one-third
of the total cost with the balance payable eight weeks before the event

However, weddings are expensive, so to help with budgeting we offer clients the choice of paying a
£95 deposit followed by several affordable payments at convenient intervals until the full fee
is settled. We just ask that all payments are completed no later than eight weeks before the event.


Any Location, Anywhere in the UK, and Beyond

FSM Photography cover weddings, civil ceremonies and special events throughout the United Kingdom,
and beyond, so wherever your event is being held do get in touch with us to discuss your photography.
If the event is any distance from the studio we travel the day before and stay in a hotel. We take care of our
own travel and hotel costs, there is no charge to the client.
